The Skylo team has made monumental strides in recent years. Founders Parth Trivedi, Tarun Gupta, Dr. Andrew Nuttall and Prof. Andrew Kalman cleverly engineered a way to provide ubiquitous connectivity to smartphones, wearables, IoT devices, and mobile network operator customers from anywhere in the world with a simple firmware upgrade. To this day, Skylo is the only direct-to-device solution we’ve seen that offers a true commercial solution for satellite connectivity for standards-based non-terrestrial networks (NTN). Our conviction for the team and their work has only grown, as has the team’s growing list of partnerships with the likes of Samsung, Deutsche Telekom, satellite outfit Viasat, Keysight, and more.
We’ve worked extremely closely with Parth, Tarun, Andrew, and Prof. Kalman since the ideation phase of their entrepreneurship journey. Even early on — during our initial incubation of this team — we knew they would go on to build something special. We are thrilled to double down on Skylo and support its continued growth.
Proven technology and a passionate team
Skylo’s global NTN service offering allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo’s commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo works with existing satellite operators, network operators, and device makers to provide subscribers with connectivity anywhere and anytime that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. With this additional investment, Skylo will continue to enable connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across critical industries such as agriculture, maritime, logistics, mining, and others, in addition to mass-market consumer devices.
The opportunity presented by Skylo is nothing short of massive. With a strong emphasis on commercial contracts and partnerships, Skylo has positioned itself as a key player in shaping the future of global communication and connectivity.
We are proud to be part of Skylo’s journey and recognize its transformative impact on satellite-to-device communications. As we support Skylo’s progress in connecting remote and underserved areas, we are confident that its technology will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of global communication and connectivity. We look forward to supporting the team’s growth and contributing to the realization of a world where every device is seamlessly connected anytime and anywhere.
